Each year, the Kansas City Business Journal recognizes 25 projects that have enhanced Kansas City real estate and the area as a whole. Once again, NSPJ Architects has been honored with three projects for the 2019 Capstone Award Winners in the Mixed-Use and Multifamily categories.
531 Grand, Mixed-Use Award: Kansas City, Missouri
At the corner of 5th and Grand in Kansas City’s River Market, 531 Grand is a mixed-use in-fill development featuring 185 residential units and 9,907 square feet of retail space bringing additional revenue to the community. Cornerstone Associates, LLC and Block Development Company developed the project and Titan Built Construction was the general contractor.
Norman School Lofts, Multifamily Award: Kansas City, Missouri
The Norman School Lofts building, originally a progressive-era elementary school built in 1898 and vacant for the past eleven years, has been rehabilitated into to a multifamily residential building. It offers one & two bedroom apartments with outdoor terraces, pool with sundeck, modern construction amenities, and dog-friendly features. Del Properties developed this project and HarenLaughlin Construction was the general contractor. Additionally, Strata Architecture & Preservation played a key role in assisting with the rehabilitation.
Brookside 51, Mixed-Use Award: Brookside, Missouri
Alongside HOK Kansas City (architecture firm of record), NSPJ assisted with the 170 interior units of the Brookside 51 project. An assortment of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units sit above the long awaited Whole Foods Market. VanTrust Real Estate developed this project and Weitz Construction was the general contractor.
