At the corner of 5th and Grand in Kansas City’s River Market, the mixed-use building 531 Grand will provide both 185 residential units for the growing number of people who want to live in downtown Kansas City and 10,000 square feet of retail space for future stores or restaurants that will bring additional tax revenue to the community. The project broke ground on June 6, 2016, and Phase 1 was completed December 2017, followed by Phase 2 in April 2018.
The architecture of 531 Grand directly responds to the area’s distinct history, while also integrating modern materials like metal panels and glass. The ground floor has approximately 10,000 square feet of retail space facing Grand Boulevard and the residential lobby entrance is located on Missouri Avenue.
Residential units range from 494 square-foot studios to 1,721 square-foot two-bedroom units with dens. Amenities include a clubhouse with internet cafe, full kitchen and bar, dining area, and entertainment areas; fitness room with towel service; pool with sundeck; fire pit and grill area; and free WiFi in the common areas.
