The Kansas City Business Journal reports that Rec-Centric Apartments, a proposed multifamily community near 79th Street and Renner Road in Shawnee, Kan., would bring 271 apartments and six townhomes to the area. Designed by NSPJ Architects, the community would feature bike, kayak and canoe rentals, fitness-focused courtyards, walking trails, a dog park and rooftop gathering spaces overlooking Shawnee Mission Park. The development recently received preliminary approval from Shawnee planners and is scheduled for City Council review as it moves forward.
