Shopping in Saudi Arabia is an important part of daily life and social interaction. When developing a new concept for Zonik, a high-end electronics store, a heavy emphasis was placed on the design to capture and engage customer interaction with the fixtures as well as the environment. An espresso bar and lounge with wi-fi allows casual conversation while browsing the store’s merchandise electronically. All of this takes place in an exquisitely modern expression unlike any other. This project and the subsequent roll-out stores, in collaboration with Winntech (the fixtures and interior designer) were the recipients of the prestigious Chain Store Age Magazine’s International Store of the Year for 2008.
