Villa Milano

Villa Milano is a 290-unit apartment community sited on an 80-acre parcel in Leawood, Kansas. The tract was originally acquired when the surrounding properties were still farmland, and Villa Milano is the second phase of a long-range development plan. The first phase was a community of single-family and patio homes designed with an Italian theme.

Villa Milano was designed at a smaller scale and density than that of contemporary apartment buildings to integrate with the first phase. Traditional design elements and an Italian theme were carried through and incorporated in this second phase. Exteriors are clad in colored stucco that reflects the colors of the Mediterranean.

The project is comprised of 25 small apartment buildings and 12 buildings containing twin villas. Each of the apartment buildings houses either eight or 12 one- and two-bedroom units, all with direct or adjacent access to their own attached garages. The twin villa buildings serve as a transition to the adjacent single-family development.
