Traditional Low Country, Coastal Style

NSPJ Architects partnered with the talented, custom home builder, Evan Talan, to continue our tradition of high-quality designs in an established golf course community.  The biggest challenge for our residential architects was designing a new residence at the top of a sloped lot to take advantage of golf course views that also blends in with the established residences in the neighborhood.

The lively, active couple brought inspirational ideas from a traditional low country, coastal style home they greatly admired.  A 5,000 square foot home will comprise of four bedrooms, and four and a half baths.  The traditional low country style includes rectangular or square floor plans, high ceilings, elevated floors, large covered outdoor areas, generous number of windows and traditional features all with a crisp, clean nature.  A specialty kitchen was added to suit the couple’s love for culinary experiences.

Key elements include hip roofs that extend over wide covered front porches supported by columns or pillars. With the open, wrap-around porch protected from the elements, family and friends have a place to catch breezes and enjoy warm evenings.
