After acquiring the property last year, Tutera Senior Living & Health Care set out to revitalize the outdated assisted living common areas with the community’s first renovation in over twenty years. A reprogramming effort then began to breathe life into an outdated facility.  Underutilized areas were reactivated to create more resident engagement spaces by modernizing them with new lighting, cabinetry, flooring, paint, and other upscale finishes.

The resulting project focused on reprogramming the common amenities, with a specific emphasis on the entry lobby and adjacent spaces to create a revamped elegant main dining area, bistro lounge, fireside lounge, fitness center, multipurpose room, activity/cooking room and more. The living space upgrades comprise an abundance of upscale dining and gathering places for social interaction and entertaining.

The interior style of the modernized common areas took cues from a nearby sister community within the Tutera network. Brand standards were adjusted for this project to reflect the community’s individual atmosphere. White shaker paneling now brightens lobby and coordinates with the panelized columns throughout. The worn-out carpeting was replaced with white plank tiles with accenting carpet tile inlay reflect the recessed light cove above and showcase thoughtfully selected furniture pieces.

The building circulation was rerouted to enhance the flow throughout the common areas and provide additional space for new amenity areas. This reshuffling of spaces and programming allowed the opportunity for a new fireside lounge and multipurpose room to the community.
