Located in historic downtown Overland Park, Kan., the landmark Strang Line Car Barn is soon going to be a place of celebration. The building, which was built in 1908, is being transformed into the Stone Manor, a new wedding and events venue.
One of the goals of the design of this space is to showcase the historic charm of the building, with beautiful features such as a barrel vaulted ceiling, steel tresses and stone walls.
In addition, a mezzanine level will include bride and grow suites that overlook the open reception space below and features a dramatic curved staircase.
The building was first used as the Strang Line Car Barn and Power Plant, housing train cars in the 1900s. Most recently, it was home to Traditions Furniture. The building is listed on the Overland Park Historical Society.
