Located in the Kansas City metropolitan, this stately Colonial Revival was designed to remind the owners of their Connecticut roots. Using timeless and classic design principles, details were incorporated into the residence, such as real shutters, historically accurate molding and eave vents that seamlessly blended with the Colonial Revival style.
The floor plan of the residence required a thoughtful approach to create an open, interconnected space between the rooms in this remodel, while also meeting the city’s strict guidelines. To achieve this, a room was created at the rear of the home to look as if it were a porch that had been enclosed at some point. This rear room features floor-to-ceiling windows and doors for maximum natural light while also complementing the original architectural design.
