Stately Colonial Revival

Located in the Kansas City metropolitan, this stately Colonial Revival home was designed to remind the owners of their Connecticut roots. Using timeless and classic design principles, unique details were incorporated into the residence, such as real shutters and eave vents that seamlessly blended with historically accurate molding in the Colonial Revival style.

The floor plan of the residence required a thoughtful approach in creating an open, interconnected space between the rooms on the first floor, while also meeting the city’s strict guidelines. To achieve this, a room was created at the rear of the home to look as if it were a porch that had been enclosed at some point. This rear room features floor-to-ceiling windows and doors for maximum natural light while also appearing in a convincingly historic way.
