Modern Clean Modular

Next to a lake in Lee’s Summit, a clean, modern, modular home is imagined.  The clients, with eyes for design, came to us with inspirational images containing forward-thinking and consistent modern home designs.  Because of the irregular configuration of the land and the lot’s orientation to the water, the layout was reimagined into a form that compliments the shape of the estate that works well for the family.

The authentic, modern lake home highlights modularity and simplicity. An abbreviated floor plan encompasses approximately 2,000 square feet.  With the need for extreme efficiency of use, the home is creatively constructed to perform a myriad of duties. The home is arranged along a processional that gradually widens as you move through the home to set up the experience of the main voluminous living areas and dramatic views of the lake beyond.  An overall modern aesthetic is designed with an extreme focus on hyper efficient, green construction. Light is purposely celebrated on cross axial moments throughout the home. The clerestory windows provide passive lighting for the rooms.

The exterior of the home is meant to look contextual with the outdoor landscaping materials to compliment versus detract from the typical native landscape.  A Mod™ Pool is designed using shipping containers converted into pools.  On one of the main sides of the container, the wall is replaced with a glass front that looks through to the lake so users of the pool experience a seamless look between pool water and the lake.  They plan to entertain in a home that is easily convertible to their family’s needs.
