Located in Leawood, Kan., this luxurious home underwent a complete style transformation remodel, from the inside out. The clients wanted to remodel with a clean, fresh transitional, neo-classical style update to their suburban craftsman residence.
In order to accomplish this transformation, the floorplan needed to be reimagined to open up the rooms and the walled staircase. The architect designed a floating staircase, removing the walls around the stairs and dining room for an unobstructed view into the home, connecting the dining room to the kitchen and living spaces. Floor to ceiling, modern windows were installed to maximize the ambient light through the home. The garage stairs were moved to create more space at the back of the home for a mud room and pantry storage.

On the exterior, the larger windows, a lighter color German Schmear treatment on the stone helped to transform the outward appearance of the home. The architect designed a dramatic front entry, with an inviting seating area next to it for a complete and stunning new look.
