The LDV Ranch Main Home is the crowning jewel on the 834-acre property at the end on the long winding road highlighting the beautiful landscape architecture and statues through the property. The main residence has a Mediterranean feel but features a similar beamed ceiling & natural stone materials as the event barn and boat house. Maintaining the indoor-outdoor entertainment philosophy of the ranch, the home is the central gathering spot for the ultimate private retreat get-a-way. Built to hold many guests, the house sleeps 30 people in 6 bedrooms.

The design philosophy for the home was to create a harmonious connection between indoor and outdoor living. The grand entryway of the home will take your breath away with vaulted ceilings facing out oversized windows with expansive views the lake. Large bi-folding doors and sliding glass doors open the back of the entire home to the outdoors.

Unique features include a soaring foyer with a sweeping staircase to the second floor, followed by a second staircase leading up to a tower room that provides the best views of the surrounding landscape for miles around.  A peaceful spa boasts a fireplace and doors that open to the patio and overlook the lake.  On the bottom floor was designed as a family gathering space featuring a sunk in theater room to enjoy movies and a golf simulator for the active family members.  The area is surrounded by a movie theater experience with candy, a popcorn machine, card tables and an arcade.  For the adults, a custom designed bar shaped as a bow of a boat gives them a place to connect.

The clients were looking to have an outdoor space unlike anything in the Kansas City area. Fire bowls on columns frame the view to the lake and a long central linear fire pit create a focal point for both day and nighttime use. A large roof covered terrace includes a grill bar, outdoor drink troughs, pizza oven, TV area, and OXYR grill which allows everyone to make their own stir fry. The terraced outdoor areas also include ping pong, horseshoes, bocce, and plenty of lawn space for games. Along the lake, a wine patio allows the homeowners to enjoy a drink at sunset.

It was our delight to take the journey through the design and construction process with this client.

NSPJ also designed the event barn and lakeside boathouse on the property.
