The Georgian-Style Historic Addition is the renovation of a landmark home located in Kansas City, Missouri.  The renovation consists of adding a three-car carriage house with guest quarters, fitness space, and connection to the existing home through an enclosed portico. The existing home will have a two-story addition at the back and side of the home.

Currently, the first and second floor of the home is 4,453 square feet. It will be expanded by 2,840 square feet to include expand several key features. On the first floor, a larger informal living area, family dining area,  and mudroom. Additionally, a guest bath as well as an elegantly appointed and large formal dining room.

On the second floor, a large casual great room for the family as well as the children’s friends. This will allow for the lower level to be a focus of entertaining while the children have their own space for play and creative project work upstairs. Furthermore, an expanded bedroom, bathroom, enlarged laundry area, along with the addition of a guest half bath round out the changes to the second level.

The current 2,310 square foot basement is to be expanded by 1,755 square feet. The basement renovation will include office areas with expanded historical archival display and library.
