Danforth Chapel

Nestled in the heart of the University of Kansas campus lies Danforth Chapel, one of the oldest buildings on campus. As demand for use of the chapel increased, a refurbishment and expansion were required to provide additional space and function. So as not to overwhelm the character and visuals of the original chapel, the quarry from which the original stone came was identified and every new stone required for the addition was mined from it. A new, full HVAC system was integrated and concealed, and the chapel was brought into ADA compliance, all without disrupting the original look and feel.
