Located in midtown Kansas City, this historical renovation involved converting the 90-year-old Congress Building into a modern, mixed-use building that includes 53 market-rate apartments and ground-floor retail. The existing parking structure was modernized, and part of it converted into split-level lofts. The 105,000-square-foot building was gutted to its concrete shell and new mechanical systems and new windows were incorporated. A fitness room was added and the rooftop was augmented with a sundeck. Several units have private roof deck access and covered patios. First floor retail includes a coffee shop and a pet salon, which provides an extra amenity for residents with pets.
