Briarcliff Courtyard Marriott

The Briarcliff Marriott was the result of developer Charles Garney’s vision for a boutique convention center coupled with the desire for a Courtyard Marriott flagship project. Because Marriott does not typically allow its properties to be attached to an event space, and because the proposed site was literally a cliff, unique approaches were needed to insure Marriott standards were met and design expectations were exceeded. The Briarcliff Courtyard Marriott was Kansas City’s first LEED-certified hotel.
