KANSAS CITY, MO (December 2, 2019) – Cameron Group, LLC and GFI Development Company, LLC awarded the design of the Tom Colicchio-curated food hall in Mission Gateway to two distinguished firms: MG2 and NSPJ Architects. The industry heavyweights’ collaborative effort will create sleek and modern indoor and outdoor spaces for the development’s food concepts, art installations, and more.

NSPJ Architects, a Kansas City-based firm with more than 58 years of experience, has built a long-standing tradition of excellence in service and design, commitment to quality and devotion to create the best lifestyle environments for its clients. Their architects and landscape architects work together to create a truly holistic design approach for all types of projects. Their experience ranges from high-end custom homes found in the neighboring Mission Hills to mixed residential / mixed-use communities. In addition to the food hall, NSPJ is the architect of record for Mission Gateway’s Element by Westin Hotel.

Inspired and curated by Colicchio, the food hall at Mission Gateway brings together nationally acclaimed chefs and restaurateurs coupled with local artisanal purveyors to offer the finest in freshly prepared foods, experiential dining, shopping, and entertainment. The development will expand upon the traditional food hall concept as Kansas City’s first modern social venue that incorporates food and drink with indoor and outdoor events, a rooftop space and lawn games, including opportunities for larger scale corporate events, leagues and tournaments. The development will also feature a rotating art installation.

Mission Gateway is a 550,000-square-foot mixed-use development located at the intersection of Shawnee Mission Parkway, Johnson Drive, Roeland Drive and Roe Avenue in Mission, Kansas. In addition to the 40,000 square-foot food hall designed by MG2 and NSPJ Architects, Mission Gateway will include: Cinergy, a 90,000-square-foot destination entertainment venue featuring EPIC; offices; a parking garage; multifamily; small shop retail; and an Element by Westin Hotel with 200 rooms.

Construction will start on the food hall in the first half of 2020.  Each aspect of the development will open staggered between 2020-2021.
