Here are 5 Overland Park real estate projects driving its growth

CityPlace

Description: The 90-acre, nearly $1 billion CityPlace mixed-use development is set to finish construction by 2029. The development sits southwest of College Boulevard and U.S. Highway 69. Block plans to add $250 million worth of office and retail this year, including CityPlace Corporate Centre IV, a six-story, 190,000-square-foot building. Last year, CityPlace Corporate Centre I added 72,477 square feet leased to six companies — NextaffOneDigital Retirement + Wealth, Brinkmann Constructors, DSI, Principal Life Insurance Co. and Actuarial Resources Group.

Why it matters: The development is a magnet for new office space and is growing as a destination for multifamily options. Block started construction on its third apartment project there, the $82.2 million, 355-unit apartment complex called The Majestic. Health care technology company Wellsky, which has 425 local employees, will expand to CityPlace Corporate Centre IV, which is under construction.

Players: Block Real Estate Services LLC, developer; NSPJ Architects, Hoefer Welker, architecture; McClure Engineering
