NSPJ Architects partnered with a visionary developer, James Hickok of Hickok Homes, who purchased West Plaza property to bring a new style of housing to their company portfolio and to Kansas Citians. The goal was to maximize and utilize the site with elemental design, clean forms, and amazing views of the plaza skyline, all while providing elegant and unique interior spaces.
The two sloping lots allowed for a spacious basement with 3-car garage and mudroom, uncommon to narrow lots such as these. A 3-story open staircase of steel ascends through an open-concept, double-height dining space, modern kitchen and living room with an impressive balcony for entertaining. The 3rd floor has an uninterrupted layout, flowing around a two-way fireplace connecting the master bedroom and master bath with an incredible walk-in shower lined with clerestory windows.
