Timothy Homburg, Co-President/Principal Architect at NSPJ Architects

Timothy Homburg, AIA, NCARB

Co-President and Principal Architect

As Co-President of the firm, Tim Homburg is committed to upholding the firm’s storied history of design excellence and commitment to client service. This “client first” approach to projects is embodied in the client’s needs and goals being the guiding force in design and schedule. By developing strong relationships with clients and engaging in active listening, he is able to craft an architectural program that addresses the client’s functional needs while also allowing the client to be involved in the process. Throughout his career, he earned experience in a diverse range of project types, which enables him to analyze projects holistically. Tim endeavors to lead by example, holding himself, and those working with him, to the highest standards of quality and professional ethics.

Tim began his career in architecture immediately after college, working directly under NSPJ firm founder Howard Nearing as an intern. During his tenure with NSPJ he has held the roles of staff architect, project manager, director, principal architect, and executive vice-president, before becoming firm co-president with Clint Evans in 2015.

In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations, Tim also continues to serve as principal architect on many projects. His work focuses on single-family residential, multifamily, and mixed-use neighborhood land planning. His recent projects include Mission Chateau, Royale at CityPlace, 531 Grand, Westbrooke Green and many residential homes, including the restoration of a Georgian-style estate in Liberty, Missouri, that was featured in Kansas City Homes & Style.
