Mission Hills Tudor Adaptation

This custom home in Mission Hills is a beautiful two-story Tudor Adaptation that fits a growing family’s vision for an authentic, old-world aesthetic and meets strict guidelines from the city. The clients needed a more functional floor plan, with bathrooms for each bedroom and spaces for children to play away from the main living spaces.

The clients also wanted areas to transition between the indoors and outdoors. A large covered porch, located off the dining room and kitchen, as well as a covered lower terrace with an outdoor kitchen and views of the pool, provide entertainment spaces that seamlessly transition between the inside and outside. A solarium on the side of the home captures the stunning views of the yard.

Another challenge was to provide a three car garage that was not highly visible from the street. The architect designed a side-entry two car garage with a one car garage tucked toward the rear of the home to match the clients’ vision for their new residence.
