Matt Embers joined NSPJ Architects in October 2021 as a Designer I after graduating from The University of Kansas with a Master of Architecture. Matt became inspired in architecture when he understood that he was like his parents (architect and interior designer) and the opposite of his brother (engineer). His professor, John Gaunt, also inspired Matt with his passion to design and create experiences through architecture. Matt studied abroad in Singapore, Malaysia, and Japan where he researched the cultural differences and how the architecture reflects uniquely in each country. He volunteered his time at the Lawrence Community Shelter during school. His colleagues would say that Matt is passionate, funny, and creative. In his free time, he enjoys the mountains, snow, and snowboarding.
