Marketing & Content Specialist

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, business, OR an unrelated degree with commensurate experience of at least 7 years
  • Minimum of 5 years* of professional experience in marketing or closely related field, such as communications or public relations
  • Proficiency in: Adobe Creative Suite (esp. InDesign and Photoshop), WordPress, and MS Office Suite
  • Understanding of brand standards and general graphic design principles
  • Experience and involvement with a variety of advertising/marketing campaigns
  • Experience in, or demonstrated understanding of, Architecture, Construction, Engineering or closely-related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Through strategic guidance from the Co-Presidents and collaborative engagement with the staff, this role will develop, execute, and implement marketing strategies and accompanying materials, including but not limited to the following:
    • Social Media & Website Management: consistently create new and engaging content to upload to social media and/or the NSPJ website; content should be engaging, with well-selected images and written in the “NSPJ voice”; able to effectively interpret and analyze data to make strategic decisions to increase engagement; must be able to adjust writing style to specific audiences as needed
    • Materials and Administration: craft and/or coordinate the creation of all printed, digital, and visual display materials in line with NSPJ Brand, such as: RFPs, presentations, signage and displays used for various purposes; coordinate project photoshoots; ensure materials are executed within budget and on-time; maintain organization of all marketing-related materials and images for easy access and reference
    • Outreach: coordinate and execute the Firm’s media and publicity efforts, including, but not limited to: paid advertising, story pitches, press releases, contest entries, charitable giving, and sponsorships

Essential Employment Requirements

  • Daily office attendance for a typical 8-hour workday (8am-5pm with an hour for lunch) and accurate time recording for billing.
  • Essential for the effective performance in this role and the successful operation of the firm’s business, the individual must be able to communicate (verbal and written) effectively and constructively in English with NSPJ employees, consultants, and clients in order to convey and understand details relating to projects and other business-related items.
  • Able to work independently and cooperatively with coworkers and teams
  • Able to work efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge and daily use of computers and the computer programs used in the office for job description
  • Must be able to see (close, and at a distance), listen, speak, sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach overhead with hands and arms, use hands to handle/feel, and lift/move up to 25lbs
  • Own and able to effectively use a smartphone for social media posting and scheduling (including Instagram)
  • Performs effectively under conditions of occasional high stress and pressure
